Day by day it’s so easy to compare our morality to those we see and know. We walk around with a sense superiority, thinking to ourselves “at least I don’t do that”. However, the fact remains that none of us is perfect. Sin is sin. No matter how big or small it seems to us , it’s not our opinion about unrighteous behavior that counts.
You’re missing the point if you don’t understand this fact: God’s not looking at how big or small the infraction may be. He only sees the infraction. Look at it like this, your life is a big white linen tablecloth. Sin is a glass of red wine. It doesn’t matter if you dribble a few drops from your mouth accidentally or purposely throw the whole glass on it, in God’s Eye the pristine, cleanliness of the tablecloth is marred. It is dirty. Instead of Father throwing away the tablecloth, He gives us the opportunity to go through the Ultimate Wash, the Blood of Jesus!. “What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus!”
We can’t wash away our own stains, let less anyone else’s. Therefore, it’s important not to judge blots and uncleanliness. It is only through our faith in Christ and His ability to save us, that our lives are scrubbed free from sin. So don’t worry about someone else’s cloth. Just make sure you take yours to be washed in the Blood of the Lamb. Then and only then will your tablecloth be fit for use on God’s banquet table of eternal life.
