Question. Are you having a soliloquy with God when you need to have a “soul quiet thee” with Him? A soliloquy is an act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself, regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play. Synonyms include monologue, speech, address, lecture, oration. In other words, a soliloquy implies you are play-talking to God in a one-way conversation, with no expectations of Him ever talking back. If you are wondering why prayer isn’t working for you, it may be because you won’t shut up and listen!
Prayer is TWO WAY COMMUNICATION. Yes, you should make you prayers and supplications to God. THEN, you should be quiet and let you soul wait on His answers. It may take moments, it may take days, but you should always wait to hear the voice of God respond to you when you are in prayer. Adam and Eve had a tangible relationship with God. He walked and talked with them in the cool of the Garden Eden. If you have be restored to sonship with Abba God, then every aspect of that relationship is repaired, including being able to talk to AND hear God’s voice. You want to know the secrets of the universe or how to accomplish success? Ask for it. The Word says, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened up to you. (Matthew 7:7) A strategy can’t be implemented if you don’t receive the strategy from God. A question can’t be responded to if you don’t wait for the answer. Your emotions can’t be soothed if you won’t let God address them. God can’t express His love toward you if you won’t hear His heart.
Your soliloquy HAS TO change to a SOUL QUIET THEE so you can hear what God is saying to you.
Patience in prayer is essential, especially in this fast paced and impatient world. You have to let God get a Word in edge wise so you can have a wise edge over your life. Get quiet. Hear the Word coming from God. Then do it. Implement it in your life. That’s the POWER in prayer. Be not only hearers of the Word but doers also… Obedience is better than sacrifice.
I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ you will no longer have one-sided conversations with God but you will go into prayer with the EXPECTATION of having an EXPERIENCE with your Father and your King. I decree you will move from soliloquy to dialogue with Holy Spirit. I decree your spirit shall entwine with His to build a personal relationship you will be dependent upon. I declare you will become uncomfortable with you being the only one talking just as you would in a natural conversation or relationship and you will allow yourself to be pursued and caught up in God’s love and desire to commune with you! I ask all this in the MIGHTY and PRECIOUS name of Jesus Christ!
Talk back to me! Was this you? How did this post affect the way you pray? I look forward to hearing about how God responded to you AFTER you stopped talking and listened for Him…
