I have a concern. I truly believe the modern “church” has become consumed with wanting a “better, Godlier version” of worldly things. You know, a large house, but one that God gave me not drug dealing. Prettier clothes, you know not revealing but designer, never-the-less. It’s a lottery/casino/slot machine mentality which is pervasive. Pull on God’s arm, get a jackpot kind of thinking.
The equation of “I have more stuff = the blessings of God are mine” is false. The math of God is more like “your flesh – worldly things = walking in righteousness”. The bible says in I John 2:15 -17 (The Voice, *emphasis mine) “Don’t fall in love with this corrupt world or worship the things it can offer. Those who love its corrupt ways don’t have the Father’s love living within them. All the things the world can offer to you—the allure of pleasure, ***the passion to have things***, and the pompous sense of superiority—do not come from the Father. These are the rotten fruits of this world. This corrupt world is already wasting away, as are its selfish desires. But the person really doing God’s will—that person will never cease to be.” God says He sent Jesus to give us life and that more abundantly. But life, according to God is not about the pursuit of happiness and things which are temporal. NO. It is about knowing we can worship God freely without the specter of death, shame and sin being constant reminders of our impending deliverance to hell! That’s what this life and the life to come is about.
This “new math” the church is preaching is both dangerous and futile. Things are not going to keep you out of the hands of this world when they turn against the true believers in Christ. That day is coming! I can’t say this enough, it’s going to be ILLEGAL to call upon the name of Jesus. Are you gonna conform to the world even further so that you won’t have to experience the trials and tribulations of being a believer in Jesus Christ?
The bible talks about a mark that must be taken in order to buy and sell. If you refuse the mark, the Word says you WILL BE executed by guillotine (head cut off). Sound drastic? Yes it is. Here is the part that will stop you from thinking what you are thinking: The bible says in Revelations 14, “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” In other words, you won’t be able to take the mark and then ask God to forgive you. You will have made a permanent choice! What if in the next 5 to 7 years, this technology is introduced to the world? What are you going to do?? Guess what? The technology is already in testing. It’s not far away. It’s here. If you can’t buy things, if you can’t get stuff, are you then no longer blessed and highly favored???? Something for you to think about.
Getting things of this world, accumulating wealth and riches is not the blessing. Being in the Ark of Safety, Jesus Christ is the blessing.
Time to go back to the old math! You + Jesus – the world = Blessings x eternity (nth power)
