I am disturbed.
Deeply. Utterly. Distraught over some of the things I’ve read in the news lately.
Some of the people of this country have sunk to levels of depravity that would make the residents of Sodom, Gomorrah, Babylon and Rome blush.
HOW do you, as a judge, rationalize that a 3 year old “asked to be” sodomized? How do you, as a person running for office, justify running racist and stereotypical pictures of people on t.v.? How do you, as the president of the U.S.A., defend an abuser without even hearing the complaint of the abused? How do you, as a woman, a mother, explain away how you sold your own children for sex?
Racism and blatant discrimination are at an all time high. Opioid use is now epidemic but young brown and black kids are getting life for marijuana possession. Young women are modeling themselves after people who have gained fame by selling sex tapes of themselves. Young men are grooming themselves to act like men who use violence, misogyny and ignorance as benchmarks of success. The fastest growing group of people contracting aids and sexually transmitted disease are senior citizens.
Corporations can legally “lobby” our politicians with fancy parties, trips and cash, yet people who bring attention to the problem are literally dragged out of public meetings and forums. Parents are trying so hard to be their children’s friend that they allow dysfunction to rule their homes. Children are so desperate for attention that they are sending nude pictures of themselves in order to get more “likes”. I could go on and on about the CRAZINESS that is now normal news.
In Matthew 10, Jesus is sending out the disciples to preach the Kingdom of God, and He’s giving them a warning about what is to come. He tells them to give the message in spite of the persecution, which was sure to follow. In verses 14 & 15, He tells the disciples
“If someone won’t welcome you or listen to your message, leave their home or town. And shake the dust from your feet at them.
I promise you that the day of judgment will be easier for the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
” Wow. That’s scary!
Why am I talking about this particular passage of scripture? What does this have to do with what’s going on in the world today? Although Jesus is talking about the Kingdom, I can’t help but think He is also talking to us about the ILL WILL and pervasive EVIL that has become normalized in our society. I wonder do we, as followers of Jesus Christ and His disciples, believe we should give the message that our society is “Messed up”. Is it our responsibility as believers to tell people the TRUTH as it concerns what is happening in our society? As a Christian woman, can I keep silent in the face of what is going on in our country? As Christian people, can we continue to look the other way while people are literally going to hell and taking the entire country with them?
As a believer, we have the not-so-popular assignment to call out the insane way some people act and think today. It’s NOT okay to run stop signs and shake down suspects because you are the police and you think you are above the law. It’s NOT freedom to target children with your pedophilia just because you believe it’s “natural” for adults to want babies for sex. It is NOT okay for our politicians to be beholden to big pharma, corps and lobbyists to the detriment of their constituents . It is okay and it’s NOT judgmental to tell parents to stop acting like they’re afraid of their own children. It’s NOT okay for prophets and apostles make it too comfortable for their singles to keep having sex outside marriage with confrontation of the consequences. It is NOT okay that everyone’s response to the rising violence problem in America is to buy more guns and get “conceal & carry” qualified. It is NOT okay that pastors and bishops are being caught red handed having orgies and not being held responsible for leading their congregations astray. It is NOT okay that sin is running unchecked in the hearts and minds of people, and that is INSIDE some churches!
We, as the Body of Christ, have to stand up for righteousness, holiness and the standard of Jesus Christ. There is a real need to wage some serious spiritual warfare in the land. It is time to confront the demons that our society refuses to see. People should know the Truth, even if they refuse to accept it. WE should be the bearers of the Light of Jesus Christ. The veil of deception will be lifted, if I have anything to do with it.
I’m not sure if anyone else is ready to give the message.
Nevertheless. I. Am.
And if they don’t receive the message, I hope they won’t be surprised when they see me shake the dust off my 5 inch heels.
I’m just sayin’
