WHEN are we gonna stop PLAYING church?
When are we gonna stop thinking “setting the atmosphere” means dimming the house lights, turning up the pan and strobe lights and blowing smoke from a machine?
When are we gonna stop thinking about who may be watching on social media streams just in case we get caught on camera “worshiping with abandon”?
When are we gonna stop mixing emotionalism with worship? You know, if you “feel” His presence then you can “praise” His name? When are we gonna stop thinking only a song is worship?
When are we gonna stop following a formula for “service” that was derived from an “order” over 2000 years old?
When are we gonna stop pumping up the “gospel” music and start preaching the TRUE GOSPEL (repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand)? When are we gonna stop telling people you have to go to church in order to know God. We ARE the church and since we carry God in us, they should have met Him because they met us. Right???When are we gonna stop telling people about our pastor and start telling them about Jesus? NO offense but your pastor is not the One who saves people. The anointing for evangelism shouldn’t rest solely on his/her shoulders. If your pastor isn’t preaching the Gospel what does it matter???When are we gonna stop thinking because someone is jumping up and down, shaking, screaming and running, they got the Holy Ghost? You know, Holy Spirit doesn’t come and go like a cold and He definitely is not gonna make you act a fool because the “right” song has been played.WHEN oh WHEN are we gonna stop PLAYING church?? Pastors are being gunned down in their front yards because they asked their neighbors to turn their music down. Children are being raped and molested by the very men/women of the cloth who are supposed to protect them. Folk are going to church on Sunday and committing suicide right after leaving “service”. Profits and Egoangelists are standing up in pulpits every week DEMANDING that the laity lay entire paychecks at their feet. “Worship leaders” are so busy trying to impress folk with their vocal gymnastics that the path to the Throne is littered with dirty, fake praise. For Church’s sake!!! Folk STILL teaching women can’t be preachers and children can’t know Jesus before the age of 6!!!
COME ON Y’ALL!!!!! WHEN are we gonna stop PLAYING church??? People are literally dying in the streets and in their homes all around us and the most important thing on our agenda is when are things going to get back to normal?? What normal? Whose normal??
The hopeless are losing what little hope they hold onto and the lost are no longer searching for a way out and all we can think about is how many people tithed last week??
Folks are hungry, tired, worn out and at their wits end. We keep telling them “It’s gonna get better!” but won’t give them a dime, doughnut or deliverance from evil??Find me WHERE in the bible all this stuff church stuff is important and necessary for the salvation of PEOPLE. Tell me, what’s the difference between our religious behavior and that of the Pharisees???? WHEN are we gonna stop PLAYING church and realize WE ARE THE CHURCH????????
