What Does He Want?

As Christians, we are supposed to be different from the rest of the world. The world is constantly looking for someone or something to give them what they want. Even if their needs are met, we live in a society who’s mantra is “Give me more, more more!”.

It’s time to examine our behavior when we are in prayer with God. Are we bringing a worldly view to our prayer life? Are we continually asking Father for something we need or want? Jesus said in Matthew 6: 31-33, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles (the world) seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you NEED all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” NKJV (emphasis mine).

We spend a lot of time seeking God’s Hand when we need to seek God’s Face. Spending time to know and do God’s will concerning our lives should be the hearts desire of every believer on earth. By putting our wants and needs secondary to God’s will for us, we become the acceptable, living sacrifices He desires and needs us to be.

To see God’s Kingdom on earth firmly established takes wisdom and knowledge gained only by seeking Him completely. We must reprogram our prayer life and the desires of our heart to please and satisfy Him and not ourselves. When we do so, He promised to give us exceeding, abundantly above all we ever ask or think of. And that covers everything. What more do we need?
