First, I want to say thank you to all of you who are a part of the Global Girl Daily Devotional family. Your loyalty to reading this devotional is both humbling and encouraging to my soul. There are literally millions of blogs, devotionals and articles you could choose to read, yet you take the time to come and read the words God gives me to to give to you. Thank you is not enough. I am so honored to be a part of your life.
Now, enough with the mushy stuff. So you may have noticed I haven’t been as consistent with my devotionals here of late. A few days, here and there are missing from the daily timeline. “Why?” you ask? I’m so glad you asked, thank you very much. The answer is…
I’VE BEEN BUSY.
I’ve been busy spending time with my granddaughter
I’ve been busy studying and learning about dance and flag ministry.
I’ve been busy cooking and making crazy amounts of desserts.

I’ve been busy living life more abundantly.
Life is about balance. It cannot be all ministry, all family, all business, all relationships all the time. It’s about striking the right amount of each thing that is meant to fulfill your purpose and give to others around you. Proverbs 11:1 says “A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.” Spending all your time in service to others but neglecting your family is NOT a good thing. Pouring out your finances in support of your local house but not taking care of your own bills is NOT a good thing. Writing, studying and researching the Word of God without applying it to your life is NOT a good thing. There must be a true balance is all that we do.
So, there may be times when I am absolutely consistent and posting my blogs everyday. And there will be times when I shut it all down and spend quality time with my family and friends. I might even spend a few days researching new recipes instead of scriptures. Who knows how and where the Lord will lead me to be to have just or balance weight in my life. I encourage you to spend time in the Lord everyday. But don’t forget to spend quality time with your family, friends and good and godly pursuits as well. As we move full speed ahead into this 2019 holiday season, balance will be essential to all of our well being.
I think I might just go get busy and make some of my famous chili and homemade french fries…
