HOW DO YOU STUDY YOUR BIBLE?
I’m incorporating two of my favorite things: SOAK Method Bible Study and Happy Planning! Scripture, Observation, Application and Kneel or Pray. It is a simple yet effective way to spend time in the Word each day. Each day I write out the scripture, make observations, ask myself how I will apply what I’ve learned and then pray about the revelations. The goal of the SOAK method is to make efficient use of your time to study God’s Word. By studying everyday, you will draw closer to Abba God and fulfill the scriptures to “store[d] up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” and “but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. “ (Psalm 119:16; 1:2)
I’m using an older version of the Faith Happy Planner to do my SOAK. Happy Planner is a very popular, disc bound planner with a large following all over the world. Planning has become a way of life for many hobbyist and those who want to keep dates, events and to-do lists together in one convenient, creative and fun place. My planner has a vertical layout that is popular in Happy Planner but you may find it more expedient to use a horizontal layout. You might also consider a notebook, journal or composition book so you can have room to write and expound upon what you observe and apply. A vital part of the SOAK method is to pray or kneel in prayer about the scripture you have written. Although I am not writing my prayers down in my planner, when I am led by the Holy Spirit to do so, I will be writing them in my prayer journal, a separate book I have to keep track of my prayer requests and answers to my prayers.
Throughout the 2019 year, I will be releasing my monthly theme for S. O. A. King in the Word of God. Look for them each month. Each calendar will be downloadable for your convenience, along with a devotional or writing to kick-start the new theme each month . I’m excited to start this new way of study. January is Gratitude/Thanksgiving month. I researched scriptures related to gratitude and thanksgiving and put them in my month dashboard, that’s the page where I can view the whole month on one sheet. Then everyday, I write out the scripture and wait for the Lord to give me new insights and revelation as it pertains to my life, circumstances and situations. Periodically, I will share blogs on how my SOAK journey is progressing.

It is great for all levels of understanding of the Word, and I encourage you to get your children, parents and friends to study along with you.
