December 2019 – Hope

DO NOT LET YOUR HEART ENVY SINNERS, BUT BE ZEALOUS FOR THE FEAR OF THE LORD ALL THE DAY; FOR SURELY THERE IS A HEREAFTER, AND YOUR HOPE WILL NOT BE CUT OFF.
PROVERBS 23: 17-18 NKJV

Hope. It’s different than belief. It’s akin to faith. It can sometimes feel like a wish. Other times it’s as elusive as a dream. What is hope? The dictionary defines hope as a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Hope is also a verb, an action word: to want something to happen or be the case. The bible says faith is made up of hope. Without hope there cannot be any faith. Without faith, our hopes cannot be realized.

Yet hope, as it is defined by man, does not begin to touch the surface of what we as believers in God the Father expect, desire or long for in this life. Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness. Our hope has to be for our heavenly home AND for the promises of God that are ours to claim while here in Earth. This month’s S.O.A.K. calendar is to help us refocus the direction of our expectations and hopes in Christ Jesus, the Word and what God’s design is for our lives. It is my prayer, my hope that this calendar will be an encouragement to you to dream again, desire the best again and to place your hope in God Almighty again and again.

As we close out this year of 2019 in our S. O. A. K. calendar, I pray that the time you have spent soaking in the Word has brought clarity, direction and the deep sense of God’s Presence alive in your life. We are looking forward to seeing what 2020 and the years ahead have for us to study, reflect, observe and pray about earnestly and sincerely. May God continue to bless you and give you the desires of your heart as you S.O.A.K. after His presence DAILY.

Love, Minister Andrea
