Can He Get a Daily “I love You”?

When you fall in love, do you tell the person you are in relationship “I love you.” only once? Do you say it hoping, thinking that this one utterance of love will suffice for the duration of your courtship, wooing, friendship? Do you let your actions speak for you? Do you expect them to just know you love them just because you are there? Is saying “I love you.” once sufficient for the duration of a lifetime together? Would a husband or wife speak those endearing words at the altar of matrimony but never again say it to the one they say they cherish the most? Would you deny your love to the world because it would show your vulnerability to another?

Or

Would you want your special person and everyone to know just how much you love them? So it is with us and Jesus. We say He is the most important thing in our lives. Yet sometimes we just find it hard to whisper “I love you.” to the Lover of our soul. Tim Tebow, the inspirational NFL quarterback and Christian brother had a wonderful response to a reporter who asked why does he talk about and love Jesus so much. He said, “If you’re married, and you have a wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife ‘I love her’

the day you get married? Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and every opportunity? And that’s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ is. That it is the most important thing in my life.” That about sums that up!

The most important thing/person in your life will be evident in the way you think, act and most importantly, talk. Saying “I love You.” to Jesus only once short changes not Him but you. Relationship is a two way street. He loves you with a love everlasting. Do you have the desire to reciprocate and fall in love with Him? Do you expect that your first declaration of love and gratefulness to Jesus for your salvation will suffice for the duration of eternity?

Or

Do you want to build upon that foundation and establish a true and enduring relationship with your Savior and King? If you truly love Jesus, then find ways to make it easy to proclaim your love to Him constantly and consistently. Make sure you don’t have a problem with the world knowing it either. Part of being in a healthy relationship is communicating how much you appreciate, admire, trust and love a person each and every day. It should never be taken for granted that the Special Person in your life knows it because… You are the Bride of Christ. You are united with the Father through Jesus Christ by way of Holy Spirit. Your spirit is connected to His for all of eternity. He has saved you from damnation and for His Glory, has established you as a royal priesthood in His Kingdom. You are not only an heir but a joint heir with Jesus. You have inherited life, eternal life in the presence of God Almighty forever. For these reasons alone, your heart and lips should sing “I LOVE YOU JESUS” with every breath you take. He wants to hear the words from your spirit just as much as you want to hear them from your Special One: “I LOVE YOU.”

Every D A Y.
