Who made it so hard? The theologically ecumenical stance on the denominational credo and tenet remanded to the congregational philosophy of piety and religious behavior concerning the evangelical propriety within the propitious mumbo jumbo! Christianity has been dissected, analyzed, reassembled and rearranged so many times, by so many denominations, that it’s a wonder anyone really knows what they really believe.
What if, in order to save your own life, you had to witness to someone about Jesus Christ without using any of your religious “buzz words”? Could you do it? Would you do it?
Imagine, you are restricted from mentioning your church’s name, denomination and pastor/bishop/apostle’s name. The only tool you could use to save your life (and the life of the one you are witnessing to) would be an actual biblical scripture concerning salvation. Are you prepared? It’s good to know the theology behind your faith in Christ but the basics of salvation should be in the repertoire of every believer in Jesus. It’s not your opinion, your church or your denomination that saves anyone. It’s the pure, unadulterated Word of God that sets them free. Let’s get back to basics. THEN build from there.
A – ACCEPT
Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
B – BELIEVE
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
C – CONFESS
Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
John 3:18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.”
