October 2019 – Peace

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV

Peace. The world definitely doesn’t give it and, boy, does it strive to take it away daily. It seems like the basic things in this life are designed to take away any semblance of tranquility, calmness and harmony. Going to the grocery store can lead to a nervous breakdown. Picking up the kids from soccer practice seems like an exercise in hostage negotiations. Every where we look there’s equilibrium busting circumstances waiting to steal our hope, joy and peace. So how do we get to a place where we can find serenity?

Peace that surpasses human understanding and worldly circumstances can only come from one place: The Throne of God. Being in Almighty God’s presence brings about a peace which is both indescribable and supernatural. When we study God’s Word, pray and worship in the presence of God, there are both short and long term effects. Immediately, when you spend time with Adonai, your blood pressure begins to regulate, your breathing becomes regular and you feel the weight of the world fall of your shoulders. It’s not coincidence that when you read the Book of Psalms that you can relax and even fall asleep. It is the peace of God that is washing over you. Long after you leave the presence, like a beautiful perfume, the fragrance of peace begins to permeate your being. That tangible feeling in His Glory is transferred to you so that, even in stressful and uneasy situations and circumstances, peace becomes a part of who you are and what you portray. Peace is no longer just a feeling, it becomes a part of your spiritual d.n.a.

This month’s S. O. A. K. calendar is designed to keep you in perfect peace. By studying, observing, applying and praying about peace, I can guarantee you the Peace of God will become something you will jealously protect and enforce in and around your life. Once you have a taste of true peace, confusion, disarray and upheaval in all areas of your life become unacceptable. You will seek the counsel and wisdom of God in everything you do and every place you go, because peace will be a priority. Endeavor this October to reject anything which desires to take you out of position and practice peace in word and in deed. Enjoy this month of SOAKing in Peace. I believe our Father God desires this for us all: Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God!
