Life offers us a multitude of opportunities. We, on any given day, can make hundreds of choices. Where should I park? What should I cook for dinner? Do I rent or buy? Is she the one?
We also have dreams, desires and wants. I want a car, what kind should I buy? I dreamed of a business, should I name it after my mother? So many choices, so many decisions.
Perfect example #1: You know you want to buy a house. You ask God where to buy the house and how to find financing. He gives you the perfect answers. You get the house. You got His permission to do what you wanted to do. He didn’t stop you. God’s Permissive Will.
Perfect example #2: You know you want to buy a house. You ask God should I buy a house now? God says wait two years and save a specific amount of money. Two years later, you find the perfect house and the interest rates have gone down significantly. The down payment required is the exact amount God told you to save. You got the house you dreamed of AND you put God’s decision ahead of your own desires. God’s Perfect Will.
Remember, God allows permissive will in our lives. Yet His perfect will is what’s ultimately best for us. We will always have choices, both large and small, that will impact our lives in one way or another. Just be sure to make room for the King to choose what’s best for you.
