There are days when I feel so insignificant. I feel like my contributions to God’s Kingdom are worthless and make no difference. I don’t seem to be noticed, let less acknowledged for anything I say or do. I feel like a small cell lost in the vastness of a total body. Yet Jesus Himself reminded me that my uniqueness, my gifts are precious and precisely what His Body needs to move His Kingdom agenda forward.
The Body of Christ is large and very diverse. Some people look like they are His feet, others act like His arms. I think some people see themselves as His liver (filtering out all the poisons). Outwardly, they seem to be important to the Body. But what about us who inwardly never seem important to the function of the Body? Perception can be misleading. We are all important. Even if I never get acknowledged, I should stop seeing myself as only a minuscule cell. The Body needs me just as much as the arms, legs and liver.
Regardless of recognition, I must function properly, especially on a cellular level. Holy Spirit pointed out to me, “If one cell of the body does not function properly or becomes unbalanced or cancerous, it can affect entire bodily systems in a profound and disastrous way!” I might feel small, but GOD says I’m vital and crucial to Him. If I do what He created me to do and operate and use the gifts He gave me, I am bringing life to His Body and change to His Kingdom. WOW. I’m not so insignificant after all. It turns out I’m cell important indeed!
“You are Christ’s body-that’s who you are! You must never forget this. Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything.” I Corinthians 12:27 (Message)
