Don’t Worry, He’s Gonna Cut the Grass

Everyday!

Yep, everyday there is something in the news about somebody or some corporation that has gotten away with figurative (and sometimes literal) financial and/or political murder.

It is frustrating, to say the least, to see people with no morals, standards or belief systems sin against God and man day after day. How can they get away with hurting the humble, ignoring the plight of the working poor and stomping down on the so-called middle class? Retirement funds are raided, jobs are shipped overseas and salaries are slashed. All while giving themselves record salaries and bonuses. Here’s the worst part: some of those individuals and companies maintain a very public belief that there is no God. Or if they believe in and love a god, it’s name is Mammon (the god of money).

We’ve all seen it but we cannot allow it to bring us down to that level. Don’t get me wrong, I like nice things too, but I will put Father first, seek His righteousness and all the other material things will be added to me. When I find myself getting angry and jealous of the mansions, Bentley’s and designer clothes, I declare two things: Psalm 37:1-4 “Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

and

Proverbs 23: 17-18, “Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day; For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.”

Live your life as if you know where your treasure lies. Don’t worry about how pretty their manicured, designer grass lawns might be on the other side of the fence. One day they will hear the sound of God’s mighty, rushing Lawn Mower. And all the money in the world won’t stop Father from cutting down their grass.
