Ladies & Gentlemen in a championship fight for the ages! In the far corner, weighing heavy on the minds and spirits of people everywhere, here is Religion. AND in this corner, floating like a feather, wanting to bring positive change to all, give a welcome to Reeeelationship!!!

Ten rounds, Ladies and Gentlemen, how will you judge?

Ding, ding, ding! Here we go:

Round One –

Religion says I have to pay to get to heaven by suffering, by being “good church folk” and by doing “good” deeds vs Relationship says Jesus already paid for me, only God is Good and salvation is free not thru works, so nobody can boast about being “good-er”.

Round Two –

Religion says “You can’t come in here looking and acting like that! Clean up first then come on in.” vs Relationship with Christ says “I’m coming to you just as you are. If you let me in, I’ll show you how to clean up!”

Round Three –

Religion refuses to change and move past tradition vs Relationship with God is full of creativity, innovation and new ideas.

Round Four –

Religion apparently makes it hard to maintain deep appearances vs Relationship with someone Who loves so deeply is apparent and easily maintained.

Round Five –

Religion will divide people by race, creed, denomination, gender and hate vs Relationship will unite all in one Body in Christ with compassion, caring and love: One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.

Round Six –

Religion maintains that denominational doctrine takes precedence over biblical truth vs Relationship maintains no man’s law will EVER supersede God’s Word.

Round Seven –

Religion gives you the right to measure someone else against your standards and judge them accordingly vs Relationship constantly reminds you that Jesus is The Standard and according to Him your judgment should be left out every time.

Round Eight-

Religion is like a stagnant pond with no life or freshness vs Relationship with Christ is a living Spring of water, always refreshing, full of eternal life.

Round Nine –

Religion means you will always find something in its doctrine to disagree with vs Relationship with Jesus means because His yoke is easy, you will always stand in agreement with Him.

Round Ten –

Religion has multiple lists of “thou shall not’s” and “thou shall do’s” vs Relationship has one Word to cover thou: Grace.
